Kansas City, Missouri 12-1-09 – The national organization of Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), and the Kansas City, Missouri Joint Venture CertificationSimplified, recently announced a national affiliation agreement designed to jointly sponsor a minority and women business certification and outreach seminar, the first event scheduled to be held at Kansas City’s Bartle Hall on Friday, February 19, 2010.
“Given the recent attention to the need for public/private partnerships in building disparity studies and reliable statistics on minority and women availability and barriers, we’re excited about this opportunity to take a more proactive approach in working with government agencies to address this need”, says Barbara Kasoff, WIPP President.
“We’re especially excited to be offering assistance to local government agencies that are facing staff and budget cuts. Attendance at this event will build availability statistics which we can relay to our government agencies”, says CertificationSimplified co-organizer, Denise E. Farris of the Farris Law Firm.
Bringing in national and local experts on all aspects of certification, the event will provide attendees with in-depth and detailed information and handouts on all relevant M/WBE applications, program guidelines, and specific information on registration and certification procedures. “We hope that following this kick-off event, additional national associations will join in this effort, allowing the program to continue through all major metropolitan areas in the United States”, says CertificationSimplified and event co-organizer Jody Barrett of Unchained Creative Events.
